24 songs by Hans Martin on texts by Wolfgang Salm

end of 1948 sought Wolfgang Salm in an advertisement in Readers Digest a should be set to music composer, who was willing his poems.

Between January 1949 and June 1955 Hans Martin set to music by Wolfgang Salm then 24 texts and presented them at his disposal, about 20 years then there was silence between the author and the composer. Then, the family requested the notes for these songs, given the speaker to be available again, what his wife Catherine aka Kate Salm then immediately headed into the path.

The original notes are now back with the family. Some of these songs were in a concert on the 60th Birthday of the composer by his daughter Maria Theresia Martin (vocals) and his son John Martin (piano) brought to the show.

About Wolfgang (Adolf Karl Heinrich) Salm, little is known:

He was born on 04.18.1897 in Frankfurt a Main has died in Tegernsee on 10/07/1972. He was married with wife Katharina Gertrud Salm, born Brentrup [Lara Salm]. In the 2nd World War, he was most recently a colonel in the Air Force and later worked as general counsel. The family lived until April 1953 in Mettmann, then Beuerbach / Loisachtal and November in 1954 in Tegernsee.

His wife Catherine was able, for health at the evening concert in 1976 did not participate and then to crack and the contact with the family from Salm.

Where the daughter of Petra S. and live under what name, and whether there are close relatives, is unfortunately not known, but perhaps there's someone reports shall find this entry in the Internet.
